Although some traditional spreads include 'past, present and future' it should be noted that any 'future' state will be changed by taking action, or inaction. Instead of a 'future' you may wish to consider requesting a possible outcome or an opportunity. Please see our disclaimer for further details.
The Three Card Spread is a traditional spread that can be used in a number of ways. Three Card Spreads are not a 'one size fits all' spread - rather they can be tailored to your needs. Sometimes the three cards are enough to give a very quick reading but often the reader will draw more cards to enrich the message or to bring more clarity to the reading.
A more advanced reading and a spin on the traditional celtic cross is The Blossom. This spread allows the reader to understand more about the enquirant by looking at their emotional and physical states. This is an excellent first reading for a new enquirant, it should give a lot of confidence in the reader. Most of the cards will be telling the enquirant things they already know about themselves, so that when the final card(s) are turned they will feel reassured that the reader is truly looking at their opportunities in the future.
The Five Card Spread can be used as a hybrid between the simple Three Card Spread and the more complex Blossom. Instead of focussing on the emotional and physical state of the enquirant it looks at what the situation is and what is influencing them, opportunities and obstacles both the known and the unknown. This can then be used to provide guidance towards an outcome.
