A typical distance Reiki session lasts around an hour although your first session may last longer to allow time for introductions and questions.
Before booking a Reiki session you should consider the practitioner's training and experience, what to expect during the session and if aftercare or support is offered. It's also important to inquire about the setting, pricing and your comfort level with the practitioner.
1. Practitioner's Qualifications and Experience:
Nix is trained and certified as a Reiki level 2 Practitioner in the Usui tradition. Her Reiki Master is registered with the UK Reiki Federation. She has experience treating clients both in-person and with distance healing. Her preference is to provide distance healing since this can be arranged more easily to suit individuals schedules and also has more consistent results because the recipient is usually more relaxed in their own environment.
2. Trust and Comfort:
You should make sure that you are comfortable with the approach, this can be determined at our consultation phone call prior to you booking a session. If you cannot find information about your treatment on this site please do not hesitate to ask, it is important to ensure you understand the process and feel confident about the session.
3 Cost and Payment:
Distance Reiki sessions usually last between 45 minutes and an hour and cost £75 per session. Your first session is likely to last 90 minutes and will include a call before the session and a debrief call after treatment has concluded.
Payment is required in advance of the session at the time of booking confirmation.
Bank transfer or PayPal payment is accepted.
Discounts may be applicable if you book and pay for multiple sessions in advance.
How to prepare for a reiki session
Drink a glass of water before your session, it supports the body’s energetic flow and helps you stay grounded. Turn off your phone (or put it on Do Not Disturb) and tell everyone in your home that you’ll be taking time out for yourself. Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed. This could be your bed, sofa or even a cozy chair with a blanket. Dim the lights, light a candle or bring in calming scents if you like.
Your certified reiki practitioner will speak to you prior to the treatment and send you a Spotify or YouTube link to some music for you to play. You will not be on the phone while the treatment is taking place. When you start the music, take some deep relaxing breaths and close your eyes. Try to remain present, listening to the music. If your mind does wander gently bring it back to the music and any feelings you experience in your body. You may feel heat, tingling or pressure on different areas of your body during treatment. You may see colours or feel emotional, this is perfectly normal. Not everyone feels emotional, you may just feel deeply relaxed, in a dream like state or even fall asleep.
Try to relax as much as possible, don’t try to ‘fix’ yourself or think about the things that you are wanting treated, just enjoy the relaxation and let the energy flow. Trust that the energy will go where it’s needed.
After the treatment has ended your practitioner will phone you to discuss the treatment, ask how you feel and to see if you have any questions.
